Hey guys,

Was searching the forum for brake fluid recommendations and noticed some people were running fluid other than DOT 3? I always thought that you had to run with whats on the reservoir cap due to brake lines or system being incompatible with higher dot fluid. Can anyone shed any light on this? Was considering Motul or Amsoil.

If your truck calls for DOT 3, you can safely run (mix) DOT 4. Best to do a full flush with DOT 4 and stick with it.

Careful using DOT5. It's really for race vehicles that get drained often.
