When you install a brake bypass, is your cruise control pretty much unusable? Is there a way around this?

Ya, that's kind of odd though b/c doesn't the brake bypass fool the HU to think the e-brake is on? If that's the case, wouldn't the cruise not work? I've had issues with my cruise since I bought the truck. It didn't work at first, then I played with the plug a bit that attaches the brake then it started working. When I got the truck back from the install, it stopped working and I just assumed it was from the brake bypass. I played with that plug again and it worked the other day. I think the installer might have knocked it loose or something. It's really sensitive unfortunately.

One shouldn't have anything to do with the other. I think you have it right. Sounds like your installer may have knocked a wire loose.

The H/U is just looking for a ground so most of the time for a bypass you don't have to touch the e-brake for anything. Just ground the e-brake wire off of the H/U. My pioneer was a little different it has to ground unground and ground again so I had to use a switching relay.
