Thank you I figure I can drive in M mode and see if it’s worth it.

My valve was round. Here’s what I did.

Twist the valve clock-wise and then clamp it. That makes sure the flapper is in line with the exhaust flow, rather than blocking it.

Clock-wise twist:

Thanks for posting pics. Does it sound better? I thought it was always open when the engine is running.

I have a 16 Tahoe 5.3. Does this apply to me? If so, is the the same concept as pulling the fuse on NPP equipped Camaros and Vettes? The valve stays open all the time?

No, our valve is strictly mechanical.

Hmmmm. Came home from work, manually opened the valve, slid on the 2” automotive hose clamp and tightened it down

Not to be a *****, but 0 difference in sound. Just curious did anyone’s car get noticeably louder or a deeper tone?

Yes, although minor! First I climbed under and checked the rotation both ways with the engine running prior to clamping and made sure.
