I have a 2008 tahoe and i want to get a blue tooth in it, it has a mic for the built in phone and i was wondering if there is a blue tooth set that hooks up to the cars existing speakers and microphone that i could get in my car.

The are lots of options out there for you to try. I know Motorola has some options, Parrot is another, and Scosche makes BlueFusion. Of course, there are many more choices than that, but these are fairly common brands that I researched when looking for bluetooth for my Tahoe.

I currently have a Scosche BlueFusion unit installed in my vehicle. It's rather easy to install, and works with the speakers in the vehicle. However, it still requires a stand-alone mic that needed to be run from the unit across the headliner.

There is a thread on this forum that you can read more about BlueFusion HERE

It is quite expensive on their website. I was able to find it cheaper on eBay thanks to a tip from member Green Machine.

As I said there are plenty of other options out there for you to try. I am not entirely sure if there is one particular unit that integrates fully into the in-car system. I am sure some other members here can offer up their opinions and experiences with other devices.

you could get the VCIM module from newer GM vehicles with bluetooth factory and get it flashed by the dealer to use the factory stuff. There are a lot of posts on other forums about this. I'm actually thinking about doing this myself...

True. I didn't think about that. You lose Onstar capabilities though, correct? It's not a big deal if you don't use Onstar, but if you do this would not work.
