Just wondering what distributor is the best at a reasonable price also wondering if just changing the cap and rotor to say an msd would make a difference

Ebay, find skip white or kmj performance, they both have billet distributors with high performance caps and rotors for around $60 or so

I just installed this one in my Tahoe two weeks ago. Definitely a solid piece of equipment. There are other brands available, but I've learned (first hand and vicariously through others) that you often get what you pay for. That said, Summit carries a wide variety of compatible distributors - from stock (plastic) replacement to performance (pro-billet aluminum) - ranging in price from $100 to $700.

Regardless of which brand you select, prepare yourself to deal with the Cam Retard reset procedure (P1345 code).
