Why would you increase the capacity? It sounds like the problem he has is that he is getting rid of his small capacity too quickly because he cant charge it back up quick enough. I think it would be much better money spent on a chargign system upgrade....jsut sayin

you have backup reserve, like some people feel a cap does, only you have a 145 ( give or take) alt already, why have a 200 amp on a stock OEM battery? Get storage, as the 145 can feed it for now. But you'd have a huge alt, trying to feed one battery.
$60 battery, or $300-$400 alt.

Just saying what I'd do....

Yeah 4 ga is too small. You were pulling far too much current for that wire...be glad it didnt catch fire.

I am with whoever said get extra batteries first. Getting a ** alt is a waste. The current stock alt will handle charging a couple batts just fine. But getting a ** alt wont do anything, once it charges your current batts....its really not doing you any good. So get the batteries then if thats not enough go for a second alt or replace your factory with a larger one. I run 5 batteries, I charge them with the stock 130 and a ** Ohio Gen 240 amp alts.

Also 1000 watts is really not much power. I mean its loud and I aint knocking your setup. To each his own. I personally have 4 18s run off two Cadence C5s (5100w each) I would love for 1K watts to pull up on me :D

Last thing then im done.... and this is advice to anyone with a lot of aftermarket electrical items. Hell even if your bone stock this WILL help. ...The Big 3, Google it. The single most inexpensive electrical upgrade anyone can do to any vehicle.

That 4000w RMS amp is full of shit. I guarantee you it doesn't put out that much power. If it did, those subs would have been gone a long time ago. The 15" L7's are 1000w rms each.

Teh amp really does put out 4000rms and he obviously only has the amp turned up to about half power.

I understand you got 15's 'dawg', im speakin more about only 1k watts. I bet it sounds great, but im still sayin it aint the loudest. I dont want this to get to a pissin match though, good upgrade on the wire, looks like you needed it. Look into a better charging system before bats, like a ** alt

I'm not trying to get into a pissing match either but all im saying is el paso doesn't really have any really loud cars or trucks. Theres a lot of potential here but no body ever hooks their system up right or to full power. mainly all the people here are army guys the just put the mega phones on there cars so they can be heard from far away with the vocals but when it comes to bass nobody here has the right set up on their box, amp, etc. to be heard from a distance with their bass. I know that if i go to a big city like dallas or houston ill be beat real fast when it comes to my system.

I'd do batts first ( double up) before alt, but an alt would eventually be in the works.

The only thing that i really needed was the batt. to alt. wire. so my lights wont dim too much. got one out of a 6.0 today and it works just fine.

Damn, a "mine is bigger than yours" match. Haven't seen one of those since High School in 1967. Just lay em out on the table and measure. I knew I would be glad I bought that hearing aid stock.
