Would the voltage drops cause problems in driving? Here is my setup and problem. The problem only exists when the system is on as far as I can tell. I have stock electrical system as far as single battery and alternator. I have 0/2 g wiring to a 2F capacitor and then to a 2400w amp. I have 4 12" subs ran to the amp at a 1ohm load. When the bass is booming, my voltage drops between 10-11v, and my truck seems to hit dead spots accelerating. It will accelerate some, pause, accelerate a bit more, stop, and repeat. It doesn't always do this either, but when it does if I turn down the stereo quickly it will stop acting up and accelerate normally. I do have a CEL for rear wheel speed sensor and crank sensor that have been there since I bought the truck and caused no issues, not sure if they are anything that would contribute.

I suppose it's possible. We had a 69 camaro running MSD ignition that tended to want to...not run, when it went below 11v or so (had to tow it back from the end of the 1/4 once at the dragstrip).
If you haven't done the big 3 I'd do that first considering the amount of current you are drawing, and possibly add another battery. 2400w at 12v is 200 amps and the factory battery is rated at a puny 550 or so CCA considering all the electronics they have stock.

Its an interstate battery. Don't know specs on it as it was in the truck when I bought it. White with a green top. It probably needs replacing soon since I'm not sure what its been through and it seems to lose some power after sitting overnight. Another thing to note is that it only stutters at lower rpms. Once it hits about 2200 it takes off and drives fine.

You should get the battery load tested at a parts store or shop, it probably does need a new battery.

Did you happen to upgrade your headlights to HID's? The reason I ask, is that when I went to get mine installed, I was told I needed to have the digital ballast, or else they would interfere with my radio.

I always see that AC ballasts are better than DC but I've never actually seen a DC ballast lol

just do some electrical upgrades and you should be good to go. That might not fix it but it wont hurt nothing either.

Yeah I plan on going to a ** alternator and a yellow top once I actually get it registered, I'm driving on temp tags still. Big 3 on my next day off since I still have some 0/2 wiring left from my amp install.

If you have too much of a voltage draw it WILL mess with the electronics. Just like Drew said, below 11 volts will make some stuff go crazy.
