My 2016 Denali seems to sometimes automatically dim the headlights when meeting oncoming traffic.
But only "sometimes", so I can't figure if I'm dealing with a "bug" or a "feature"! Can't find anything in the manual or on the net about an "auto-headlight-dimming" option on these trucks????

It should be in the manual. And standard on a Denali. There's a symbol on the dash for it when it's activated, it disables if you start messing around with the hi beam dimmer or turn on the fog lights.

When it's activated you should see it dim by itself at night anytime someone comes towards you, you're following someone, there are street lights around etc.

Thanks for the reply.
I have checked the manual and can't find anything about it anywhere. Can you point me to the right section?

It's under intellibeam in the headlight section.

Thanks so much for sending this page. My manual has no mention of any "IntelliBeam" system, so I suppose my truck came with the wrong manual (pre-owned). I do appear to have IntelliBeam and now, thanks to the page you sent, I can learn to use it!
Thanks much!

the manuals are all the same tahoe/suburban, yukon/yukon xl, escalade/escalade esv
none of them are any different from vehicle to vehicle, they all have the same content.
page 172 is page 172 period.
in other words they don't print 30 different manuals, they print 3 chevy/gmc/cadillac (PER YEAR)

No problem! You can download the manual if you have one from the wrong vehicle (asin not a yukon one). But as long as it's for a similar year and yukon or tahoe you're not missing much.

You can often find the paper manuals on Ebay so you can keep one in the car.

Auto headlight dimmer tech hasn’t been mastered yet. Even the new Tesla aren’t smart enough to distinguish they’re blinding us in a full size suv 2x higher than their vehicle.

I don’t use the Intelebeam on our Escalade w/ led headlamps. The sensor is all the way up in the rear view mirror.

The ones on my 2017 have been great. They always go off when they should for surrounding vehicles.
