Anybody added tow hooks yet?

Alright - these things have been out for a while now.

Has anyone added the tow hooks yet? I'm curious to see how difficult that lower grille filler piece is going to be to change on a Yukon.

Still trying to even find the part number for the lower filler panel.

My dealer is clueless.

2015 Yukon WITHOUT ACC=
Hooks part # 22903516
Lower Fascia part # 22936425

Don't waste your time if you have ACC because you can only install 1 hook.

I'll post up some before/after pics when I get them installed. I know we havent seen many with tow hooks yet. (at least I havent)

My understanding is there is a lower fascia with a single hook opening for those with ACC. Although I can't confirm but did hear this from the parts guy at my dealership.

I have the parts on order (hooks and fascia)

I have the instructions in hand. You have to remove the lower blank black fascia, both the fog light surrounds AND the entire front bumper (according to the instructions)

Needless to say I am going to try to do it WITHOUT R&R the front bumper.

That really sucks about these SUVs. I had to remove the bumper for my grille swap. I tried to go around it but it was a must. It's not hard to do once you figure it out, but my instructions were crap.

Built just like everything else now. Bumper removal is necessary on most all vehicles for grille / light removal.

Just an update. Still waiting on the lower fascia. Supposed to be here Friday.

I'm gonna post up some before and after pics with the tow hooks. I saw one at a local dealer with dealer installed tow hooks and they looked really nice.

I'm actually in the process of doing this right now. Like everyone else the parts desk was clueless. I happen to have a body shop buddy so he looked up the parts for me. I ordered my hooks and valance, hooks came in fine but the valence came as the non hook version even though we ordered the hook one. Sent it back to try again.

Well I FINALLY received all the correct parts yesterday.

I'm going to get it done in the next few days. After looking at the replacement lower fascia (with holes), I don't see any reason the front bumper is going to have to come off. It is just held in the bumper cover with a dozen or so rather large plastic tabs/clips.

I got my hooks installed on my Tahoe today.
They are a little different from the writeup on the yukon. I didn't take any pics but its pretty straight forward.

Get it up in the air and remove the triangular shaped plastic trays that support the inner fender. Complete removal is probably not necessary as it could be done by removing the 3 bolts and christmas tree and tipping the tray downward while leaving the 3 screws attaching to the bumper cover.
Remove the fog lights/delete panels, the two hidden screws behind the center brackets of the fascia panel and the 20 or so spring clips holding the fascia on.
Remove the 2 filler pieces above the fog lights and set aside, gently pull/wiggle the fascia off. Mine came right off except the center, I inserted a thin screwdriver from behind to release the tab and continued to wiggle it out.
Install the hooks, and reinstall everything in reverse order.
If you live in a front license plate state, you will need to remove the plate holder from the old fascia. Drill the rivets out with a 1/4" bit to remove. The new fascia has the top two holes located so drill those and ideally use plastic rivets but 1/4" nuts/ bolts would work. Attach the bracket with the top fasteners to locate then repeat with the now located bottom holes.
Pretty easy job, about an hour involved.

My 16 Suburban had no options. The 17 has the tow hooks and driver alert package. I can’t complain about not having tow hooks standard considering that the LS Suburbans are much nicer than my 08 1LT Suburban ever was.

And, I’m not sure I will ever use them since I don’t go off reading. Never used on my 08.
