Any Airbag help please? 08 Tahoe LT 5.3 Flex. 115K Airbag light came on this past weekend, I scanned it and got code in photo 1. I then purchased Dorman 590-203 sensor from Advance auto and replaced right front sensor. Rescanned and got code in photo 2. Then I swapped the Dorman with the driver side sensor - put original driver side sensor on the passenger side and got codes in photo 3. I didn’t bother looking under the seats yet since the code said “front impact”. The weight sensor in the passenger seat is working properly. Was the Dorman defective? I now have two bad original sensors instead of just the one (passenger).

Anyone else run into this problem?

Steve

Yeap.. Dont trust Dorman electronic parts ever.. Theres only 1 Dorman part that has been tested, and proven to be good.. And thats an air compressor!

I rather trust my luck with a junkyard part over a Dorman part.

The other good Dorman part(s) are the exhaust clamps that hold the front and rear of the exhaust manifolds when a stud breaks at either end during removal. I have 3 on my rig right now and they actually are great quality and work great. Came across this problem doing the motor mounts.

Thank you for the welcome and input. I wonder how the Dorman messed up my driver side "good" sensor? Initially was only the passenger side with the problem. I guess that's just tuition in the school of life.

Those Dorman impact sensors are known for getting the incorrect component notice. Best to stick with the OE sensors that match the number of the one you pulled off.

Watch this video, and Eric will tell you all about it.
