Hey there, I am looking to order some crossbars for my 2003 Yukon SLT (not XL), got generics off Amazon but my stock mounting bars, running front to back, were too tight to the roof to accommodate bracket. I could go to the boneyard for the thin stock crossbars but I like they idea of a t-track to mount something later.

Not looking for style, more for usefulness. I probably want 3 across and will probably have to fabricate to get the 3 to be on the same plane.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Different option may be to look for someone parting-out a Z71 and transfer a rack from that. They have beefier bars all around, plus have the canoe/kayak roller bar on the back (handy for all kinds of things). Maybe a U-pull salvage yard, if nobody has anything listed locally on CL or Marketplace.

Just an idea...

Mine was missing the rack when I bought it. I was able to get one recently. Thanks to another forum member who no longer needed it! Super beefy metal bars (including the crossbars), plus the roller bar and the cool option to add lights on the end caps for back-up/work/camp lighting. Very cool!

I am amazed at how aerodynamic the Z71 rack is, too. No whistling on the highway!
