While I would rather stay hotel for a bed and a shower, sometimes while mountain biking or just traveling from coast to coast, a RTT would be really convenient and cost effective.
Amazon has upgraded cross bars/mounts for my Escalade that support up to 260lbs and a San Hima is like your selection 165lbs.
A friend of mine has had a RTT on his Forerunner for years and never had a problem. It pops up in like 2 mins. He loves it for camping. Convenient and off the ground to avoid weather issues.
I went with stronger aftermarket crossbars for our Suburban. We haven’t used them with a tent but they’ve held 2 kayaks for several thousand miles. They’re pretty stout and attack to the factory rails.
