aftermarket esky door handles

while being bored at work today. i noticed that dorman makes replacement escalade exterior handles. i checked rockauto they got all 4 for $110 shipped. i wonder how hard it is to remove the chrome pull and swap to my painted buckets. has anyone tried doing something like this?

Check gmpartsdirect.com because I found them there for $145 with the buckets all ready color matched in my color. It might be easier just to replace the entire bucket instead of just the handle for a few bucks more. The part # is 17801137 for them in silver birch so you can see what I'm talking about. I think I might order them sometime this week.

Its pretty easy. There is a ling rivet that secures the picot point. Drill it out, remove your current pull, install the new pull and use a bolt with a lock nut to replace the rivet.

While I bought actual painted Escalade handles for my Suburban. I disassembled the handles on my mothers 2002 Tahoe to paint them.

Its crazy how much OEM Escalade handles have gone up in price. I did the swap back in 2002 before it was popular and got all four, brand new for under $100.
