ABS Sensor Extensions? SOLVED

Hi All!

Is anyone aware if ABS sensor extensions are available, or at least a place that can make them? I've seen some, but never the correct plug type

With my lift, my ABS rear cables are very close to their limit of stretch when the axle is fully drooped to either side. I can probably reroute the cables from the top of the frame to below to give some slack. But even then it won't be much.

You can buy new pigtails with one connector, and would need to find its mate to make the cables.

if you can't find anything pre-made you could cut some out at the junk yard and patch a extension in

How tall did you go? I have no problems with a 6.5" lift and extra leaves in back.

Cut and splice in a piece of wire to the correct length would seem to be the simplest workaround.

I am about 5" in the back. When the wheels are on the ground, then I have plenty of slack. Fronts are ok. It's when I have the rear axle hanging low... like when the back is jacked up and the axle is hanging, or if I am articulating a lot where one end drops more...that I get a bit worried. When the back axle is hanging free by the control arms, then the ABS wires are relatively stretched out with just a little slack. So, if I'm off-roading somewhere, I'd like a little more confidence knowing my ABS brakes won't fail, and that's why I would like to extend them a bit more.

Got it. On my GMT900s, the cables go into a bracket on the frame, if you have the same setup, pulling them out of the frame should free up some room. You might need a strategically placed tie wrap or two to keep them from getting pinched.

What I did with my rear ABS wires was there is a clip on the frame that attaches to a "grommet" on the ABS wire, I just ended up pushing the grommet through the clip and it gained some length that way and the wire is still being contained within it's mounting clip

circling back to this, it looks like this 2" extender "might" work. It is marketed for the colorado's but the connectors look the same to me
not sure if the connectors have a physical difference or not, from all the photos I can find they look the same

Unfortunately, these extensions won't work. They have different connectors.
