So the abs light popped on the dash again for the 3rd time since ive owned the truck. I know whats causing the light its the EBCM it has been that every time the light has come on. However id like to find out if anyone else has had this issue before i spend another $1000 on one. Is there something and im missing?

I had a wheel bearing go bad that kicked on the ABS light. I replaced it and the light turned off. About 2 weeks later it came on again and I was like, great, the other side now?

nope, one of the abs sensors was really finicky. I just straightened out the wires and reinstalled it fixing the slack. It hasn't come on for about a year now.

...but I have no idea what ECBM stands for. :Handshake:

If your hub bearings have not been replaced then check the top of them for corrosion between the sensors and the tops of the hubs, they are VERY sensitive to ANY separation from the hub and that can cause them to lose signal. If you have already replaced them and it happens, it could be the replacement hub bearing, some are just the slightest bit out of tolerance and a little (VERY little) grinding on the top of the hub to help to close the gap between the sensor and the gear inside the hub.

This would at least eliminate them as the cause of your issues.

Id dont think its the hub bearings something is causing the module to go out i know for a fact the module is bad because the EBCM runs with the truck off. From what ive been told there is a relay intergrated into the module that is known to go bad unfortunatly you cant just get the relay.

I got mine rebuilt by AutoECU out of TN for $50 for a lifetime guarantee. I found the service on ebay and then searched the cheapest price. Quick turnaround too, hope that helps you out.
