I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 2012 or 2013 Denali. This will be my first GM and excited to be part of this online community. Last large SUV that I owned was a 1998 Lincoln Navigator and after few month of ownership, I wanted to get rid of it ASAP. The ride was OK but it was lacking in everything, especially the engine. After test driving a new Denali, I was surprised how comfortable the ride was. It drove more like a car and the engine OMG! As you can tell.... I'm excited!

You'll love the Denali, these are great trucks. I test drove a first gen Expedition once too, right before I bought my NBS Yukon. I agree that there is no comparison, the older 5.4s have NO balls, and the interior left a lot to be desired. I've been nothing but impressed by by my Yukon, Suburban and most recently my NNBS Tahoe.

Great community of guys and gals here at TYF, too. Welcome!

Think about engine options very carefully. With gas going nowhere but up, I am happy with both my 5.3L Z71 Suburban and 5.3L Z71 Tahoe. I'm not sure I would want the larger engine when gas gets to $5.00 a gallon.

You didnt like the Navigator? I had a 99 Nav and it was 1000% better then the 2000 Escalade that I bought! It handled better, rode nicer, more powerfull by far, better in the snow and better fuel economy! AND was much more reliable! Other then that......lol

Good luck with the new purchase!

Purchased 2013 AWD Denali over the weekend. Silver with Black interior. For now this will be our 3rd Car (family car) so gas will not be a problem due to not being a everyday commuter.

My problem with the Navigator was that it was my main everyday commuting car and yes it offered comfortable ride but it was big and cumbersome. Also, nothing happened when I floor the gas peddle except it made a large noise. It was too much of a vehicle for a single man with no family.

Now, after 13 years and hopefully little wiser.... I think Yukon will be perfect car for my family with two small kids. I wanted a sports car but with two little ones under 7, I think this was the right choice.

Congrats on the new ride! And what's that saying?.. "If you can afford a $60-70k vehicle, odds are you can afford the gas pump too."

I bought my obs and a 2004 expedition at the same time, and my obs is way better. The expedition was in very good shape but the obs runs stronger. That Ford make me fall in love with my hoe.

The 6.2 is a good motor, plus theirs tons of easy bolt on power stuff you can add...so start working on it!

Congrats on the new ride! I have owned many different types of trucks, SUVs, and sport cars, and my Yukon Denali is one of my favorite top 3!!

Have fun with it!
