A hole on muffler

I honestly never heard of a drain hole in a muffler. I guess you’re never too old to learn. None of the aftermarket ones I’ve bought had one afaik.
alot of aftermarket mufflers dont have this feature as alot of them are straight through or fully hollow with sound chambers. oem mufflers use a padding material around the internal pipes to dampen the sound or something like that.

Without that drain / weep hole all the condensation the engine puts out would accumulate, weigh a ton and restrict flow.

Thank you all for the replies. I learn new thing every time I visit this forum. You guys are so knowledgeable and mindful.

I will leave the hole alone for now. When I will have to replace it, I know what I will be up to.
