I have a 99 Tahoe, need to know how to replace the low side a/c valve. I just did a head gasket replacement and that was a pain, but it's together and running. I don't know anything about the a/c but willing to learn and read. Can someone point me in the right direction? thanks :)

It's fairly simple, you just need a valve tool. Evacuate the system, pull the valve, screw in a new one, recharge. Note that you might also be able to get away with replacing the low side cap with a metal one that has a hex shaped head and an o-ring inside, and wrenching it on good and snug, assuming your leak is small.

there is a tool that will screw on the valve lets you remove the valve core without needing to loose refrigerant. check with a local shop to see if they have one to keep your costs down.
