98 Yukon Np246 Install

Hi folks,

About to install a remanufactured NP246 into the Yukon. Came with a gasket. I'm hearing that some use RTV with the gasket- others are saying just use the gasket that came with it.

Wondering if there's anyone out there that can offer experience on either?

I was cleaning the surfaces to use either option, and noticed that the inner ring might've been nicked from one of the transfer case studs during removal. I'm hoping a straight up gasket will be good enough?

Most guys just use a light coat of RTV on the gasket. But you only have a short working time.
