Just moved to Germany with my 2023 Yukon with rear entertainment. Since OnStar is not available here, I am looking for a way to still use onboard Google maps, Spotify, etc. and rear entertainment system. I am thinking about setting up mobile hotspot either plugged into USB-C, cargo 110v, or maybe tapping into an Accessory fuse. However, I am tying to use it as seamless as possible so I wonder if there's anyone that might have a recommendations. Thanks.

I'm from Russia, the only way to use the services is Carplay, or AndroidAuto. It's the same for the rear passengers, buy an AndroidBox.

Ну я прям приуныл после прочитанного. I was was, however, able to connect the car to a Hotspot and use Spotify, native Google maps, and pretty much everything on main screen. However, rear entertainment does require onstar.

Google yes, it connects without problems when distributing Wi-Fi from a mobile phone. In fact, the front screen is a tablet with Android and Google services. For rear passengers, GM owners buy an Android box from us. and connect it to the rear screens via HDMI.
How do Germans react to Yukon?)) I remember when I was driving around Austria in my Tahoe, it made a splash among the locals, who have the largest car size, a tiny Volkswagen Touareg)

I was hoping to avoid connecting anything to Hdmi ports due to its awkward position and it is a matter of time until rear passanger bumps into it and snaps the port. Maybe I need to buy 90 degree hdmi cable, but then I also need to find a way to draw power so the wires are not all over the place. As for Germans, they hate it. But then again, they hate everything and everyone so nothing new there.

Let me give you a link to a Russian resource where my friend in Yukon, with very good hands, made what I think was an awesome decision to connect multimedia to the rear screens. And you can translate it through a translator in any browser.

@Vladimir2306 Все прочитал. Очень изысканно все расписано за что автору респект. I'll keep the rest in English as to not get banned. Thanks for sharing. I am finally getting some free time to revisit this issue and will attempt to replicate with MMB Max 4 as I want simcard capability. What remains unclear to me is whether rear displays can be used independently from front as I don't want to mirror everything across all screens.

You are welcome))) as far as I understand, the rear screens can be used separately from the front.
