I need to bleed the ABS module. There are many scanners online. Does anyone know which scanner will work? and Or, which Tech2 clone will work, and with what options req?

All the tech2 clones I know of will work. However, watch out for ones using only old windows versions. If they update the cracked software gets goofy.
Maybe someone else around here can explain it better?
Also, now many cheap 2 way scanners will do ABS. So somewhere in $100-400 range.

Thx… it’s a 1996 so the cheap scanners wont work according to them. I sent several emails.
Any recommended tech2 clone? Do i need a specific cable or other accessory to connect to the truck?

Pics of the truck, please. If we can't see it, it does not exist.

You are already receiving sage advice from the knowledgeable folks on this Forum.

eBay has several Tech 2 scanners available, and you are looking at the $400-$550 price range. You just need to make sure that the software card is for GM vehicles. You do not need a CanBus adapter, as your year truck did not yet have the CanBus system implemented in it.

There are a lot of posts at various places that you don't need anything special to bleed the ABS pump on those, to drive it down a gravel road ot get ABS to activate to you need to do it with a scanner. What's the reason behind doing it? I've never needed anything special to bleed it on my older GMS but never done it on an OBS.

You might be stuck with Tech2 or another higher end scanner from that vintage. I don't have a Tech2 but do have two other scanners, you have me wondering now if either of them will do it.
