well they are tied to the same ground so it looks as if a tps broken circuit could have back feed voltage in the coolant sensor giving the impression that it was open or shorted so to speak depending on what your tps was positioned at. they have seperate reference voltage supplies and the cts has its voltage flow monitored in the ecm.
