I'veseen some 10bs being passed off as 9.5s as well sneaky ******. I think the gmt800s use a 1320joint not positive. But I already have a built driveshaft so I'll have to look. I'll keep the same gears so throwing a truetrac in should be easy. I think I'll need a different lanyard bar though.

Also the wider width is fine because I have 1/4" spacer on each side and I think 1/2 on each side would be even better.

Probably gonna pull the trigger on this one tomorrow. I'll keep y'all posted
Yo youre saying gmt800 uses a 1320? Not 3R? My brain is telling my 3R is literally for Three Rivers?

So do I need a 1320 to 1350 universal then? Or still the best 3R to 1350

Im not sticking the h2 axle in a 900, its going in a very early 800, 02 with a bunch of weird stuff. Cali smog, air injection, dorman intake, 3rivers *steel one piece drive shaft*

Its not entirely stock so idk whats been modified versus whats just strange because very early and also cali spec truck... Like its a 5.3 from 02 that didnt seem to have been apart but it had updated/"ls7 style" lifters in it when I popped the heads and those weren't across the board in LS engines till... 05-06 iirc?

So.... Who tf knows? Lol?

Ill post some pictures of the driveshaft, I know typical is aluminum and then they adapt some two piece steel thing from a pickup in these so they dont explode at 100mph... Im guessing either early trucks didn't have that issue, or my uncle solved it with an aftermarket 3rivers instead of the 2pc OEM truck shaft?

Yall can also see how far I got under there with the rust prep activities in preparation for doing this lift thats going on... Lol... At least the back is done, I was hoping to clean/rust prevent, primer/paint, and bedliner all of everything together and then install front and back lifts together, but i guess doing it in segments and then washing it and giving stuff a touch up and shine once its all together so the dirt builds up even like is the way now...

Like I keep saying, timing is dumb... How dare I try to put a damn lift on without replacing everything between the frame and the ground lol

Also you can see most shit was cleaned and painted and ready to take apart then it saw sand again before it blew up... It literally blew up in the damn desert and I clicked it here lol smfh...

Glad this could help someone, I still beat on this rear axle and it’s been great. I have gathered parts for a 4.10 and selectable locker swap just need to get time to install them.
Lol, so you gathered parts for what Im building off the rip, after having already put in a 3.42 geared 9.5" with a GrenadeLock?

I can see why youre the one around here who can recognize Im not retarded, Im just as *******...

Your 2002 originally came with 3R/1344 universal joints front and rear.

Why not just build a new driveshaft? The 1344 yokes will be a weak point with all that power you're planning to make.

Good catch, I’m not real versed on the 99-02 trucks. I definitely agree with a drive shaft upgrade along with bigger yoke.

I was planning and E locker and 4.10s but ended up putting all that in my k2500 because the original 9.5sf with 4.10s, govloc, and drums had leaking brake cylinders. What better way to fix drum brakes then with a whole new axle!

Plus I realized I really like the 3.42s with the nv4500 first gear (5.61:1). The G80 needs to be replaced with a trutrac still but it gets the job done for the most part. My Tahoe isn’t a dedicated offroad truck. It does drag trailers down dirt/sand/muddy roads occasionally, but I have three other 4x4s for real wheeling.

The e lockers are great but for this truck it would be annoying to have to stop completely to lock it everytime I want to smash the gas for some sideways action. Trutracs are always ready to go no button pressing necessary.
