As the title says, i currently have a 89 oct tune. Truck runs well but the tune didnt help mpg at all. Even when i grandma it. I do have to get another data log sent back to justin for some touching up but

Does any one have any input on a 89 vs 93 difference. Power/torque/seat of pants, mpg. Anything. The extra $.10 wont kill me i dont think.

Thanks
Hans

Thanks blueflamed did you ever try the 89 tune or jump right to the 93. I was just wondering you can really tell the difference. And is the difference only on top end?

Octane is a big factor, but even more so, is GOOD quality! Time and time again, we see logs from customers using poor quality gas, and it makes a huge negative impact on HP and MPGs.

I'll be going 93. It is what I use. Of course my wife filled up the other day with regular. ;(

When I had the tune installed I had been using the 87 octane and had horrible mileage (360 to the tank), but when I started using the 89 mid grade the mileage improved to nearly 100 miles more per tank. This is highway use.

Improvement of 75-100 miles per tank in city driving & pulling a trailer 75% of the time.

I use 87 right now as well and think i'm going to go with 89 going forward. I had mine tuned for 87 but was told by Justin i could go with 93 without pinging but if I did 93 and used 87 there would be pinging.

I was told that going to 91/93 octane would be a waste as the performance would not increase.
