Anyone have first hand experience with the Fabtech 6" lift and or the Rancho 6"? I'm looking at both of these, and price wise they are in the same ballpark. However, I was told by some friends that the Fabtech is easier on the front end, but I'm not truck savy and not sure if he's blowing smoke up my ass.

Anyone have pics of before and after? Any problems....

Just looking for some info.

Fabtech = suck! The rear end sits way low on that kit. i ruined my AV with that thing. Not only did it handle like $hit, sat way low in teh rear, you couldn;t put any weight in teh bed without it sagging. I've seen teh same thing on a Suburban. In fact every Fabtech kit I have seen sits low in the in back.

I put the Rancho kit on it after that meltdown ...and all was good!!! That Rancho kit (wich is 4" btw) sits closer to 5" total lift. I had 33's on it, but I think a 315 (34.5) tire would have fit well with some minor trimming. I would recomend that kit hand's down.

I have also gone for a drive in a Superlifted Burban and road very nice with 35on 18"s. not my truck, did not have any info on the installation, but it seemed to ride very nice on the highway.

If you decide to go with a smaller lift, currently I am running the truxx kit in front and rear with 33's and drives just like stock. It sits about 2.5" higher in front and 1.5 in teh rear. It took 2 1/2 hours to install and have had zero issues.

Here's a few links of all the avaialable lift kits (4" or higher) that I know of.
Some of these links have other tabs to see installations, picks, and writeups.
Good luck...keep us posted on what you go with. I like the first two links myself.

This is why I didn;t go with the Rancho this time around. No funds to support this modding habit.

I paid $300/shipped for the kit and $50 for the front end alignment. The kit retails for $345. I kept the factory shocks on as well. I do not have autoride either, so that may be a factor...not sure.

I'll get some pics up soon. Since ww just added the XD Hoss, I haven;t detailed the truck with all the rain we've been getting. It's no sustitute for a full 4" or 6" lift, but it made a subtle difference and handles just like it did stock....with the exception of the more aggressive bfg at's.
