This was exactly our experience. On longer trips we now bring a few boxes of DEF just in case!

And I forgot to mention that I would top off your Def tank with every tank of fuel while towing. Or bring some boxes with you.

Amen to this...........it drinks the DEF when towing a decent load like a sailor on leave in a foreign port.

Totally off topic, but I have to post about my new Curt Rebellion XD cushioned draw bar. We are 800 miles into a vacation towing a 24 foot boat and we have not heard a SINGLE clunk from the draw bar. It was expensive, but I would recommend this thing to anyone. I’m giving it a perfect score.

Better yet...Get rid of the surge breaks and put electric over hydraulic brakes on the trailer. You will love the brakes and safer.
