26 inch wheel off set question

Im getting a set of 26 by 10 wheels. What off set is everyone going with or want? These will be going on a 2015 tahoe that's been lowered 3 in the front and 5 in the rear. The wheels are blank at the moment and will be machined to any offset I want. I think most wheels for our rigs are +.30. I honestly have no clue hopefully someone has more experience than I here.

GMT900 SUV wheels have offsets of 22, 24, 27, 28 and 31 millimeters. 31 being the most popular across all wheel sizes. Backspacing on the 22 inch by 9 inch wheels is either 5-23/32 (145 mm) or 5-7/16 (138 mm).

I'm planning running the 295/30/26 I'd like more tire but I've read over and over the 305/30/26 rubs alot more.

295/30/26 is a tall tire, that tire is 33" tall. That's where most of your rubbing issue will come from, not necessarily the width.

That being said if you want them to fit flush to your fender I any first hand experience with running 26" rims so hopefully others will chime in with their experience or input. Tony (@NORCAL SS) would have some experience answering your question.

Conversely, people run 275-65-20s, a 34" tall tire on factory wheels with no rubbing. Factory 20s are 8.5 inches wide. It's my opinion that many clearance issues are because of wheel and tire width and with aftermarket wheels, they are usually 9 inches wide at minimum and the offsets are different from what GM uses.

What kinda offset are you running on those wheels or are they staggered?

The wheels are staggered. I actually have staggered offset wheels on a few rides.

I figured you would ask but I don't recall. I'll have to dig around and look for receipts and paperwork to find out. Trouble is I am working in Louisiana and the vehicle and all paperwork is at my house in Fl.

I'll see if I can find it elsewhere and advise.

A 34” tall tire with no rubbing on stock suspension? No lift or front level? I had no idea people were getting away with that much larger of a diameter tire on stock suspension with no rubbing.

Correct, I've seen both stock and leveled say no rubbing at all. Search that tire size on this forum and you'll see pics of those trucks, some are fairly recent. Both GMT900s and K2s.

Thank you for everyone that responded I went with a 30 offset so hopefully everything works out we will see in a week or so.

New wheels showed up today. 26's make the factory 22's look so small side by side.

Yes they will good thing I got the wilwood big brake kit for it also just gotta get everything installed. Been busy messing with my old tahoe fixing 300k worth of wear and tear.
