while at the post office I saw a NNBS with 24s on 315s. Looked super clean but not sure how they accomplished this. Any ideas?

A 315 35 24 tire is kind of rare. It may rub a fair amount at stock height (more than other 24" tires), but offset or cutting the liners will alleviate the problem.

I ran that same size (315/35R24) tire on my old Escalade. It rubbed real bad. It was just a rookie mistake, I wanted as wide of tire as possible. The best size is a 295/35 or a 305/35

my boy ran this with no rubbing issues what so ever, he had a 2005 Caddy Escalade ESV, i couldn't believe it but i went for a ride and sure enough it was smooth.. he even had a 2/3 drop in it
