I saw a post on another site of someone with a 2025 Tahoe RST having a screwed/crooked right tailpipes. OP said his dealer tried to fix it and could not. Anyone else have a problem or solution to their RST right tailpipe being twisted. Any resolve from a dealer? Picture of mine below.

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

I remember the other post on this topic and thinking, that's an odd one-off. Apparently, this is not a one-off. This is a quality control fiasco, since the dual pipe exhaust pieces was a fairly new aesthetic feature addition, and IMO, it looks quite good, when properly assembled.

I believe that the dual pipe tip is a weld on assembly, so it is not a super trivial fix. A dealer could perform this corrective work, if they had the proper experience and incentive to do so. If it were me, I'd probably say f**k the dealer, and I'd take it to a local exhaust system shop and have the corrective job done professionally.

What’s strange is I’m noticing the same thing on my ‘21 Premiere model which has the quad exhaust on the back.

I haven’t noticed it in the past…more of a recent discovery then saw this post.

I had it on my 23 suburban. But on the left side. It was the way the brace was welded onto the body (as I remember it). As long as it didn’t touch the plastic or have any other potential hazard. I just forgot about it.

Hi - We had the similar issue on our brand new 23 Denali. When I showed the service writer at the purchasing dealer he said it was in spec so I showed him one finger in-between rear fascia on right side and three fingers on other. He gave up and the tech heated the exhaust and bent it into the correct position. Not sure if hangers were bent, exhaust or both. All warranty. It now is perfectly center on each side.
Just fyi. Dealership should be able to fix. If not call gm warranty line. We've had many warranty issues that the original dealer wouldn't help with. GM actually suggested we stop using GMC and use a Cadillac dealership. They've fixed every warranty issue (radio not working, turn signals not working, seat heater controls, transmission and leaking headliner) and are light years above the GMC dealership in service.
Hope this helps.

Bought my:

3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel
White Frost Tricoat - Teak/Light Shale
Denali Reserve
Advanced Technology
Enhanced Trailering Technology
On July 1st and it also suffers from the crooked passenger side exhaust tip.

After my first trip to the Dealer service, the service invoice read: “CANNOT VERIFIED EXHAUST TIPS ALIGNMENT CONCERN”. The service manager and others behind the counter then said gleefully that all the 3.0L suffer from this issue and to go look around the lot to confirm which I did. Many but not all were crooked. The Manager then said even if they replaced the exhaust section the replacement would likely also be crooked.

Not satisfied with this excuse I called California Customer Engagement. After much discussion and my insistence that the Dealer would not correct this, the GM person promised to call the Dealer to find out why. Days later I surprisingly received a return call. The same GM person said that she spoke to the Service Manager at my Dealer and that I should schedule another appointment to have this repaired. I asked whom she spoke to, and she told me the correct name of the Service Manager. She then said there would be no reason that the replacement parts would not have correct alignment and gave me the Case #.

I made the appointment and provided the attached photo. Went to pick up at the end of the day with the exact same explanation as before. I was told no phone call was received and they had no record of my Case number.

‘Guess I will call GM again…

It's frustrating how these giant corporations will gladly take your money and then shit on you once it's in their grimy little hands. I've been a GM guy my whole life, but I can honestly say that 2020 will probably be the last year of SUV I buy if I continue with full size vehicles.

Its unfortunate there is so much greed and laziness nowadays that to get something made of quality, or a quality repair, seems like pulling teeth.

I’ve noticed this since these trucks came out. I am an “attention to detail” guy and I have seen many trucks with these crooked tips. I thought to myself what drunk guy was on the assembly line.

Also, I noticed many with even crooked badges…..

The fact that the Arlington Assembly Plant QC people allow that kind of issue to leave the plant is ridiculous. Given that these trucks are $80-$100K they should not be leaving the plant with something so obvious. Is it the 3rd party exhaust suppliers that are making the tip assembly crooked or the way the tip is welded to the straight pipe?

These should be welded clamped in a jig fixture for perfect alignment. This isn't that hard to figure out. Somebody isn't paying attn or they are rushing something. Sad...

I bought a new 2024 Tahoe Premier 4WD with the dual tailpipe outlets on each side. They are perfectly aligned.

HOWEVER - The first time I hand washed and dried the vehicle, I realized one outlet pipe on each side had 1 1/2 “ scratches on the inside and outside of the pipe - at about the 7:00 position on each one.

I suspected the scratches were made by some type of holding jig or clamp, while the exhaust system was installed at the factory.

I did not pursue the matter and I figured the dealer would say I scratched them. The scratches or not surface ones, but slight gouges into the metal.

My wife noticed the same thing on delivery of our ‘25 HC and the dealer techs tried to straighten it out but couldn’t.

After continued complaints to my dealer service advisor, a replacement "Y" pipe with mufflers was ordered and installed. Much to my chagrin the replacement is also crooked to the same degree as the original.

I don't see how anything but poor QC of the rear exhaust pipe assembly would cause this misalignment.

The service advisor agreed and promised to look into it. I am doubtful however, how far up the chain at GM his complaints may go to get this corrected, not just for me but for all of the replacement parts.

I would have laid that pipe out on a table. You can certainly tell if it's crooked before you install it. It's idiotic to install it and then just say oh well, it's the same as before. They should keep ordering them until they get two parallel ones in that look right.
Whoever this supplier is should seriously stop getting paid until they can put out a quality product.

This is really strange, I've been under our HC so I'm a bit familiar with what the exhaust looks like (at least its routing), but would find it hard to explain how the tips are off like that. Would like to know how it's solved....
