Hi all, former '15 SLT and '16 Denali owner here. Loved those trucks. I'm looking at the '21 Denalis now but have a few questions:
  1. Do they really not have chrome 22" wheels as an option?
  2. Can you get the Adaptive Air Ride suspension without the trailering package?
  3. Does anyone have pictures of the power sliding center console hidden storage compartment? I'm hoping it will fit a pistol. The previous gens had that awesome cubby behind the screen that was perfect for my XD-S.

I believe you are correct on the no chrome 22”. And I believe it’s due to the corrosion issues they’ve had in the northern states that salt the roads in the winter and they must have said “the heck with it!” When we obtained our used 60,000 mile 2015 Yukon the wheels were so corroded that one of the tires didn’t hold air any longer (not to mention the peeling). Same thing with our ‘07 when we bought that.

And I’ve always wondered what people put in that little space behind the screen. Gun does seem like a perfect fit!

too bad that cubby behind the screen in '15-'20s wasnt secure :(

new one will be same.
& having to set code for valet every time is GM being lazy & not caring about their customers security ;)
it also shouldnt have power when vehicle is off.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. Didn't have those issues down here in FL, but they sure look pretty!

I thought I remembered trying to open it when the vehicle was locked and it wouldn't open. I agree though, valet mode took forever to get to when you need it. Should be a voice command once you've set the code. Is it like that on the '21s?

A lot of 22' wheel options are out of stock. Not available to view/order. Supplier covid issues.

Sliding counsol looks perfect for 45 Glock. Saw one on a Tahoe.

Good to know about the wheel options. I'm happy to wait it out if it's just a supply issue.

Just saw a vid on the sliding console. Agree it's perfect, but doesn't lock which is what i would prefer.

I really think they just stopped using chrome due to the aforementioned corrosion problems, so you’ll be waiting a long time.

Anyways...simply pick up a set of aftermarket chrome wheels and you’re golden. :)

Interesting. Just an FYI... you can save money going with the smallest wheels from factory and simply order up your own set of wheel/tires. Check these similar 22” chrome...

2020 GMC Yukon Aftermarket Wheels & Custom Rims Custom Offsets.png

Put some good Nankang rubber on it and your at about $2200 total.

You’ll also have the smaller wheel/tire combo that you then can sell. $3000 for an upgrade for 22” is way too much especially since they keep the smaller wheels.

:2cents:

Here’s the 21’ wheel bolt pattern and other info...

I've considered that but I normally lease and would need the factory wheels when I turn it in. Storing them for 3 years isn't really an option. Yeah I could sell them or swap them before turning it in, but then I've gotta deal with people who buy used 22s on offerup and that generally means a ton of flakes and wasted time. For me it's worth the upcharge to get it from the factory.

I didn’t consider a lease. I know what you mean by not wanting to store them as I’ve got 8 wheels and 8 tires in storage.

I've leased numerous times and have swapped wheels. Just trade in your lease on something else a month or so early. I've never kept a lease full term. Gets treated like a normal trade and doesn't matter what wheels you have. Just make sure the value is better or equal to your lease buyout. If not, then its best to turn it in at lease maturity. I've always been able to negotiate some equity on my lease trades (8 total leases).
