Does anyone know what option gives you the LCD configurable driver display cluster (in center of dash) instead of the real gauges on the SLT? I'm asking specifically about a 2017.

I think it's Denali only, there's a truck retrofit thread on another forum I follow. Looks like a complicated and expenseive upgrade if not factory equipped.

In the Chevrolet it is the "Luxury Package"--the same one that gives keyless entry, push-button start, etc... I can imagine it is the same in the Yukon, however, trying to build a 2018 I couldn't get it to put one on--it might be a Denali only thing?

Thanks for checking. Right in the Chevrolet you can get it on the LT trim by selecting the Luxury Package. The SLT (basically the LT trim of GMC) doesn't have that package. But I have evidence that this configurable dash is available in the SLT (see above links to 2017 SLTs) and is NOT a Denali only feature, although all Denalis have it. I'm thinking maybe it comes with the adaptive cruise control option in SLTs? But I would think if this was true GMC would state so when you try to build one on their website.

Here’s another example, clearly not a Denali.

I know on my Tahoe it was tied into the HUD(heads up display) as I think someone mentioned. Try that option and see if the digital dash option shows up.

currently requires lux pkg. I was told by a large volume dealer 6mos ago that GM had a shortage of dashes for a couple months and ended up putting the upgraded dash in many mid level basic packages.

I got mine with the 2017 SLT Preumium Package. It's super nice and you can change themes too.

Any chance it was an option in 2016 Tahoe with luxury package?

It wasn't an option in 15 and 16 outside of the denali and LTZ (w/hud). To my knowledge the 17 SLT (lux pkg)and burb premier were the only ones with this option and when the std dash shortage occurred, many other models received the upgrade as well for a short period hence why some std 17s have the upgraded dash.

And while shopping for 18s, I have only seen it in the premier and denali line. I'm thinking this might be the only way to get it for 2018. I've looked at many SLT with lux and they did not have it.

The truck I got was sold as a 17 in October and has a production date of 08/17 built in Arlington TX. and this feature is on my SLT. I found it interesting that it had this, because I was literally searching all over the Nation for this particular truck...Finding Silver on Black West of Texas with all the features we wanted was like finding a needle in a Haystack. We were really specific about getting the max loaded SLT with nearly every feature of a Denali but not a Denali and throughout my research I saw many trucks with the analog gauges and few had the digital screen, but this honestly was not really part of my search, the biggest challenge was getting a SLT with 2nd row captains and in Silver on Black. If it had 2nd row captains, then it was pretty much outfitted with all the right bells and whistles. We ended up driving from Southern Cal to Northern Cal to finally get what we were looking for. White or Black trucks were everywhere, but Silver was more popular on the East coast.
