I rarely put my foot really into it, but still am pleasantly surprised how quick the 5.3L motor gets my Tahoe moving.

Sweet spot seems to be from 25 mph to 75mph, coming out of a Charger RT Hemi, its not the same,(Charger would break the rear tires loose on a 30mph roll) but still am impressed.

6.2l I know is faster, but I did not want to be stuck with 93 octane, or Denali options that I don't need.

Awesome, I totally agree that the 5.3 gets moving. Glad you're enjoying it.

I too am pleasantly surprised. Let’s be honest, nothing about Tahoe screams speed, but she goes well. Now, to get rid of the 111mph limiter to stop going limp would make it even better

355 Horses and if you add the sensor and related hardware for Ethanol, she'll make 380 horses on E85. Computer tables and wiring and plugs are already there.

Blackbear tune it. You will love it.

I concur. Haven't even added headers and exhaust yet. A simple AFM Cold air intake and the BB Tune and I can get her to squeak off the line when i mash the pedal. Firm shifts at 6k RPM too.

My 2018 Tahoe is actually kind of a dog. I’ve been wondering if any of the tunes do any good or not. I had a Predator Tune on an older Silverado, but, was disappointed by its performance, surprisingly, because I had great luck with a Predator Tune with a Challenger I had previous to that. Now I’m afraid to try a Predator Tune again for the same size motor I was disappointed with previously. Never using Blackbeard, I’m also afraid to try them.

I have a 2017 Tahoe and I need more acceleration what can I do?

all depends on your budget & speed/power needs :driver:

as stated previous post,
add the sensor and related hardware for Ethanol
(e85)
*but know although the fuel is cheaper, it takes more to go same distance as reg. fuel (i've read 40%)

CAI, catback & tune (BBP or HP tuners[ both seem to be more popular than other options])
LT headers
go inside motor & massage it ;)
boost it (supercharger or turbocharger)

the sky & your wallet are the limits LOL

Blackbear is great. You can get retuned for life. Also after tuning if things seem off or not right they will answer your concerns and modify your tune to get it spot on. They use data logs you provide to customize the tune to your specific vehicle and how its running. Its a simple process and really wakes these vehicles up and also gets them shifting so much better.

What all besides the sensor is needed on these newer tahoes? Pump and injectors?
