So.... back in the shop today. They provided me a Suburban (2015 LT) from Enterprise. It drives better than mine! Onto what they did today. I complained of same low speed vibration. See the attached email from my service advisor. So basically they have replaced 3 of the 4 tires. Bridgestone for Bridgestone. Ridiculous. How long until it vibrates again!

Got the vehicle back.... here was the diagnosis. They replaced another tire. So now, 3 of the 4 tires have been replaced. Vibration still there.

ha. 21lbs is still high in general and especially for these trucks. I thought there was an update stating that 15+ trucks with buffeting/vibration should be under 15lbs. Many of us that have resolved the buffeting have had road force numbers between 12-15lbs as a first attempt. I made sure all of our michelins were under 15lbs with local tire shop...our vibrating and buffeting is about 95% gone.

Pardon my ignorance is this issue specific to MRC equipped vehicles or the entirety of the Chevy/GMC/Cadillac Platform. I did notice the issue in a 2016 LTZ Tahoe that I test drove, felt like I was in a helicopter. I asked the salesman if he noticed the issue, even though he was green and pekid, the snake stated, I dont hear or feel anything.......I ended up going with a Z71 Tahoe because of the issue experienced.

The entire platform. Regardless of badging or trim. Seems some experience it more on the SWB models.

Another forum member just received a buy back from GM. Look at her two threads on the first page of "General Discussion". There is still hope. I would still contact a Lemon Law attorney even though there has only been two attempts and let them guide you the rest of the way.

Kinda makes you wonder how many GM has bought back. I sure as heck wouldn't want to find one used. If GM buys them back do they get a branded title? Cuz they sure aren't going to scrap a 40 or 50 grand truck. just wondering!!!

Yes they are branded "lemon buy back" on the title...similar to a salvaged title. I believe each state is the same in that they have to disclose that it was a lemon buy back to a buyer after it's been bought back.

I remember reading a post on here where somebody mentioned the 2015+ platform was the most bought back car for GM. Just curious if others have heard this and if there is further information on it.

I will continue to document my process.... step by step so hopefully it will help others. Again.... we are a family of 7 with kids ages 14 down to 4. We need the space the Yukon XL provides. It's not like this is buyers remorse fellas! We need the Yukon.... but one that doesn't make us sick to drive.

Back in the shop today for vibration (25-45mph) and buffeting/drone. This is the 4th attempt to fix the vibration and first attempt at the "buffeting".

Service advisor did show me a bulletin released on 2/7/17 advising the exhaust clamp can cause the drone/buffeting issue.

Placed in an Enclave.

There is a fix for the drone/booming where they add exhaust dampers. There are many folks that had this done and posted pictures and "how to" on a different site. Most dealers don't know how to make the fix or are aware of it so you may need to take info in-hand with you and share with dealer.

However, the dampers do not fix the buffeting issue. Best bet for that will be to change out tires and make sure road force balancing numbers are under 15lbs.

I am like you regarding the truck...4 kids ages 12 to 2yrs old and want to keep our YukonXL, but constant headaches and sick feeling by some of us will force us to switch. It's definitely a love hate situation with ours currently. And with other things beginning to fail at 50k miles, the easy thing will be to get out from it, the problem is there are very alternatives.

I fortunately do not have this issue and for sorry for the folks that do. It's truly unacceptable for the price tag. But I'm curious, if you run decibel meter can you see the difference?
