Hello, just had a very loud squeak start on the drivers side what sounds like something awful.

40 k on magna shocks, 40 k on sway bar bushings, bran new sway bar links installed this morning, and 40 k on upper and lower control arms.

Squeak starts after about 20-30 minutes gets at its max after 30 minutes, when I rotate the wheels left to right you can hear it, as well as driving down a not well maintained road. Driving on the free way it rides smooth and sounds good.

I had a shop drop some pb penetrant into the joints. They said drive it for a couple of days, and I have, no change.

I reside in northern Nevada 40 minutes from Reno east, our climate is fairly dry.

I tried turning the wheels while bouncing the vehicle to see if the squeak would stop but it did not.

This was supposed to check the ball joint. Watched a video on YouTube that talked about it.

I also threw some lube that was safe to use on the bounce? Within that side of the truck. It’s up inside the shock itself. I also watched a vid about this.

the shop I took it to in town said there was nothing else I could do but change out the control arms.

Any suggestions at this stage would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

Could you replicate the sound in the shop up on a lift? If so, you should be able to isolate the source of the noise, but it appears that you have not yet isolated the source of the sound, unless I'm missing something here.

Other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.
