I' looking to upgrade my factory amp for my subwoofer . Do you think I should and amp and another woofer. Which do you believe will give me better quality sound adding subwoofer and amp or adding the luxury amp from another vehicle. I have 2007 Yukon SLT Bose system with navigation add to the vehicle.

Used this thread and the YouTube video to install the Rockford p300-12 in my wife's Tahoe today. Wanted to come back and say thanks for the write up. It helped tremendously! [emoji1360]

Quick question, I know it’s been a while since any post in this thread but recently I lost remote signal from the pin under the dash. I tried connecting the remote to another pin and it worked.

Was trying to figure out if it could’ve been a blown fuse but I can’t find any in all 3 locations. Anyone can help with this?

Hi, I used a METRA PART # AAPAJLO adjustable LOC on my 2016 LTZ. It will accept 55 watts . I purchased it from advanced auto for approximately 20 bucks . I have it driving a TARAMPS smart 3.1 on 3 eminence 18 LFD's This one has the remote turn on option so I just hooked the orange wire to the acc spade coming out of the fuse box beside the jack and ran the blue remote from the LOC to the TARAMPS sub amp. I summed the peaker level in puts and ran them to pins 1 and 5 which is the sub out +/- on the 8 pin amp plug. The bose auto pilot is off but i didnt have any issue with the amp cutting off. This amp only takes 4 v max so the LOC gains are set fairly low as is the amplifiers gain are as well.

haah, adding a sub to the wifes new to her 16 burb and found where the dealer put the gps tracker, right under the stock amp/jack mount, lol
actually this vehicle had 2 of them, 1 is under the carpet next to the 2nd row seat but looks like it was previously disabled the power lead is cut
using a LC2i off of the stock sub output and sounds great!

Do you still have it being fed by the subwoofer signal? I haven’t used a LOC in years. I just saw on another forum this guys loc kept melting and they said it was because they were using the subwoofer signal instead of speaker signal. (Whether that’s accurate or not idk that’s why I’m asking if you have an into any issues)

Regardless I’m looking into adding a sub on my Yukon and your other post have sold me on getting a LC2 and not a standard LOC.

Another question, if your using the stock subwoofer signal, would I be able to just tap into under the center console? I’m planning on removing the stock woofer box and installing the Lc2 and amp under there then a center console sub box in the 2nd row.

yes, still using the LC2i, the factory amp is in the rear drivers side quarter panel.
the factory sub is only a 8" I think so I don't know how much room you will have under the center console to "upgrade"
the reason for using a bass restoration module is because the bose amp filters all of the channels & sound and splits various signals, chimes, bluetooth, etc to different speakers
so even at the bass output there is not enough signal to make a aftermarket sub sound even slightly good without (restoring) enhancing it.
and it's a cheaper solution versus replacing the factory amp and all of the speakers which requires modules and multi channel amps.
i can only add that the better the restoration module used the better it will likely sound

sorry if my first comment wasn’t exactly clear. I’m building the center console box between the 2nd row captain chairs so I should have plenty of room for a single 12”

I want to install an amp and the LC2 under the front center console where the existing subwoofer is and get rid of that one. Are the wires that feed the sub under the center console the wires I can use to feed the lc2? That way I won’t even have to run the wires to the back of the Yukon?

tell you what though the MOST buss is crazy stuff, it connects the cluster/bcm/radio on it's own system
I had to replace the lcd screen on the suburban which required taking a lot of the dash apart like in this guys video
that was just to get the screen "enclosure" out then I had to take that inside on the dinner table and take that all apart to replace the screen, then put it all back together.
if you even have to do that take pictures along the way so you can put all back together correctly, even putting the dash panels back together is like a puzzle and if you get a part wrong you have to take pieces back off and do it again.
this is to replace the screen, if you even have to do it I would just get one with the digitizer on it already I found one for like $60
the video guide is good but he took some shortcuts and you have to really look and take photos of how the ribbon cables are routed and get them back in the same position
to view the 2nd video just click the play button.
