Integrated brake controller for when you are towing a camper/whatever that has brakes. You can use this to engage the gain manually (the slider) and also set the gain with the +/-. I wish my '14 was integrated but alas I have something aftermarket.

Yep, it's the built in trailer brake. That said, I prefer having my own. I like my prodigy unit, and it remembers what trailers have which settings.

Yep, the JL1 ITBC. This also means one of two wires diconnected under the hood for trailering is already connected because of this option. Works great for me and when looking for my truck, made sure it had one. I'm not one who likes add-ons all over the place, even a cell phone.

The other wire that is still disconnected is the one that would provide hotel power to a trailer, such as recharging its battery or running the fridge and such.

this is the plate with the trailer switch, i've sold this a few times and if your truck has the wire harness there you should be good to install.

They all have wiring for an aftermarket unit. Are you saying that you've sold this part and folks have used the blunt cut wires to hook it up? I reckon then that if it works, it would work like an aftermarket unit and is not integrated within the truck's computer system as those with JL1 have a different wiring harness and programming.

this is an original part to add to the dash, the ones i sold too had the harness there already there from factory. never had the customer come back that didn't have the harness. i would think it would work but i don't know for sure.
