6-speed. 14-16 mpg city average, might get out to 20-21 on the highway. It has a FlexFuel engine so you can burn E85 and save money and enjoy the free horsepower; if available where you live.

What James said. And, yeah, you gotta drive it some for it to calculate your estimated MPG because it's based on how much fuel you're consuming over the distance that you've traveled. If all has been reset, it defaults to around what it should be getting at the minimum. It's kinda funny watching this- you'll be driving and instead of the "Miles To Empty" dropping, it increases as if you're getting more fuel in your tank while driving.

Well, it's basing you're range until empty based on the current MPG. So if you're driving in the city and then head out onto the highway the range will increase or fail to decrease as the mpg slowly increases. For example, I once drove 60 miles and it said we had a range of sixty miles when leaving and after arriving.

Depends on how heavy your foot is...12-18 would be the norm i would say... low end if around town, high end if mostly highway..

You dont know if previous owner reset it ever, you’ve only made short trips thus far and the more you drive the truck will actually learn your foot. Believe it or not. When my wife drives the truck its always low 12-13’s around town because she thinks you have to mash the gas pedal from a stop every time. I dont so my mikeage is closer to 15–16 around town and higher highway driving. Thus resulting in higher miles to empty...

From the 2011 GMC Yukon owner's manual:

The fuel range estimate is based
on an average of the vehicle's fuel
economy over recent driving history
and the amount of fuel remaining
in the fuel tank. This estimate will
change if driving conditions change.

For example, if driving in traffic
and making frequent stops, this
display may read one number,
but if the vehicle is driven on a
freeway, the number may change
even though the same amount
of fuel is in the fuel tank. This is
because different driving conditions
produce different fuel economies.
Generally, freeway driving produces
better fuel economy than city
driving. Fuel range cannot be reset.

These both make sense. I have only driven it very short distances so it is reading very low mileage.

Sold my Tahoe last night and picked up the Avalanche this morning!

So happy to finally be in it! I am about to take it to the shop to have an alignment done, so I will see if the cruise works now. The light on the steering wheel is coming on. We shall see!

So the cruise control light on the steering wheel will still light up. I tried to set the cruise, but it will not set. I did not see the traction control error, but I only drove like 3 miles. Maybe a bad brake pedal sensor? All brake lights work as they should.

Been driving the Avalanche around. It rides SOOOO much better than my Tahoe did. It is crazy. Everything works flawless, but I think I am going to throw on a new brake pedal switch to see if that fixes the cruise control. Would the brake lights still function normally if the switch was bad?

Yes. Don't try to fix the contacts or buy an aftermarket one, stick with GM OE or ACDELCO.

My cruise has not worked a few times. The brake lights stilled worked, though. I found that if I jab the brake pedal one good time and/or pull back on it with my foot behind it, the cruise will work again.

Just ordered one from amazon. Should be here on Wednesday. Hopefully that’ll fix my issue
