@alvocado Is that a sure 100% way to determine if the motor is fine?

I’m also puzzled about the situation, I really wish I was the one driving when it went down.

There was a tiny known coolant leak from the heater hose but it was nowhere near where the radiator was leaking from. With all the unknowns that’s why I replaced the water pump and the thermostat and radiator hoses.

The block test will only detect exhaust gases in your coolant which would indicate a head gasket leak. If you didn't warp a head, I doubt you suffered internal engine damage. The best option which was suggested previously would be to send some oil in for an analysis and see if any metal is in the sample.

I dumped all of my coolant on the highway when a rear auxiliary heater hose popped off the quick connect. Temp gage pegged, dash lit up like a christmas tree, but the truck passed a block test and has been fine since.

I did the combustion gas detection test on the cooling system today and the fluid stayed blue. Looks like I’ll proceed with getting a new transmission
