I have a 2007 Yukon SLT 4X4 and im curious to know; if I can do away with the stock air suspension system and go with regular shocks and if so is there a way to turn off the warning light on the dash for the suspension monitoring system?

Thank you in advance

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

Yes, you can, but why? I've had both the OEM and a passive aftermarket system, and IMO, the OEM suspension if far superior. In full transparency, I will note that some members of this Forum prefer a passive aftermarket suspension.

If cost is your concern, look at rockauto.com and GMPartsDirect.com, as their OEM parts prices are significantly below dealer prices, and the OEM shocks I believe are warranted for life.

Rock auto will sometimes have a description on the kit that replaces the stocks, at least in my case it did. I bout a kit to delete Nivomat

GMPartsGiant.com

GMPartsDirect.com

These three are my go to for looking up parts.

You also want the codes from your RPO sheet, the Z55 and G69 and 6XX and 7XX have to do with your suspension type and front struts.

If you were going to convert to a dumb suspension, you would look at parts for the ZW7 suspension without G65.

In 2007 it was still possible to get a truck configured with Nivomat self-leveling shocks (G65) like the previous generation. Nivomats are not air, but rather hydraulic self-leveling shocks. They were paired with softer springs as part of the ZW7/G65 suspension package.

From 2008 the ZW7 used HD springs and conventional shocks.

The Z55/G69 combination uses air shocks and a compressor out back and smart struts up front.

As @swathdiver stated above, your specific active shock will be determined by the RPO codes on the sticker inside your glove compartment. First, confirm that you have the Z55 RPO code. (If not, post a photo of your RPO code sticker, so that we can have a look at it.) If you do, then you need to match up the 6XX and 7XX secondary RPO codes to the shocks listed on the parts web site. Match them up, and you have identified the correct shock.

If you want to keep the stock features, Arnott sells several different options to do so. You can keep the auto level only or keep both auto level and electronic damping. They’re considerably cheaper than OEM. Dorman makes an air compressor that has good reviews also for just the compressor part of the system, which is less expensive than Arnott’s. https://arnott.mycarparts.com/applications/2059

The general consensus over the last few years is to keep the Z55 AutoRide system. Many have converted to standard shocks/struts only to switch back. I went with Arnott SK-2954 in the front (non-AutoRide); the kit has an electrical device included that "fools" the computer, eliminating the suspension warning light. I went with Arnott AS-2708 (reman'd AutoRide OEM) in the rear. Works great. I also R&R'd the old/worn OEM rear bump stops with Timbren TGMRYS4 bump stops and R&R'd the OEM rear springs (constant rate) with Dorman 929-929 variable rate springs (+35% load handling). The combination provides a firmer ride and increased tow tongue weight capacity, and relieves some of the stress on the rear Z55 AirRide shocks/air pump.

There should be an RPO sticker inside of your glovebox
It's tells you all your options. You can match up that with the descriptions of the
parts (on RA or anywhere)..

Missed that ! when on RA look for any of your codes listed for front struts, etc
Then you can convert to a monroe number or whatever brand.
The GM active susp struts are stupid expensive...
I ended up getting the Monroe 40048 for my Z55 Susp on my 2014

It'll be like a JL1, JL7 etc type of rpo code
