I picked up some Bilstein HD struts for the Tahoe. I was replacing the Pedders struts that were shot. The new HD's do not have the spring support part and states to take the support off the old strut. Well my stockers are long gone and the spring support is welded to the Pedders strut. So does anyone know if this is a part that you can buy?

Thanks

Mike

You should be able to get them from the dealership. Actually, I think I still have my stock struts... You can have the spring supports from them for free if you are willing to pay for shipping.

Breezy was looking to see if he still had his stockers and if so he was going to see if the spring support was removable. I will be more than happy to cover shipping if you can get yours off.

I will send you a PM with my details.

The factory struts do not allow removal of the spring support without damaging the strut itself. Bell Tech has these for their aftermarket struts, but the internal diameter may be different from what is needed...

The factory ones can be removed.
I took them off my stockers to install on Bilsteins, and then off those to put on the new Belltech ones since one of mine came w/o a support for some reason.
Told the place I bought them from and they had them send me the missing one, so I pretty much have two sitting around with all my stock parts.

Modded - PM sent

R.Breezy - If Modded cant hook me up would you be willing to pull them off yours and send them to me?

I cannot stand rolling on the Pedders struts as I found out when I removed them this weekend that they are BLOWN.

I am going to call the local stealership to see if these are a stocked item as I really need to get this project wrapped up.

Thats alot of BS to be going through.
After this, I can bet nobody else will want Pedders stuff anymore. Mine rode good, but over really bumpy roads the front road like shit.
Wonder how they're supposed "Premium" front strut crapped out so quick?
Even the factory cheapys last way longer than that.

Modded is going to hook me up with the collars I need to put the Hoe back to stock with Bilsteins.

If Pedders ever does get me the replacement front strut shock I will just sell it with the kit.

Being in Ohio this past winter had me plowing snow with the front air dam so back to stock will have a few advantages.

R.Breezy - thanks for the offer to help out.

I am impressed with everyones response to my drama. My dad wants to borrow it to go to Florida so I really need to get this wrapped up.

After taking one of the Pedders strut shocks off this weekend and seeing it has zero resistance I feel terrible driving around as i know the front wheels are bouncing around like crazy on our crappy roads.
