Ok so when I got this Tahoe the po had added an amp for all the door speakers I guess the factory one quit. Also have a nice pioneer head unit. Well I found that I had a sub i the back but it was blown and nothing going to it. So I looked at replacement subs. Being ann8 inch I wasn't expecting much but after some searching I got a planet audio ac8d. Its rated for 1200 watts has dual voice coils and is a direct fit in the stock box. I hooked it up to a 1000 watt amp. My first impression was WTF. how could an 8 inch sub produce so much bass and so clearly. I only have the gain up a little over half. Dialed in my x over and got my door speaker amp dialed in with the head unit. Omg. This sub was only 32 bucks on Amazon. Best bang for the buck ever. If anyone is looking to replace there factory sub in a Tahoe that is like mine. This is absolutely the best option. Performs great and is super cheap. Get a 12 out of 10 on my list

Just picked up this at the Junkyard other day for $10. I seen it sell over $60 on Ebay psssshhh. I got a 2005 Tahoe with the Bose Setup, so this would add a second Subwoofer in the back for a little more BASS kick this will compliment my Kenwood Double Din & Dual Screen setup.
I have a 2TB External Hard Drive with a few hundred movies and songs to which I may add, I was surprised how fast the Stereo Processor can sift thru it.

Well I've heard good things about Planet Audio so I guess I'm gonna order 1 too not bad at all for the price. What brand, type model of amp are you running? Also where did u mount it?

In my 2006 I have a Rockford P1 in a 00-02 factory box and the 03-06 factory console sub hooked up the same amp. The rear sub made the box and quarter panel ping when the sub hit. I ended up pulled it back apart and adding sound deadener basically everywhere.

Also I am going to use this opportunity and be a picture *****...

The Planet Audio 8" calls for:
1200 Watts
600rms
@ 4 ohm

So preferably a MonoBlock Type D 1 channel amp right? I have the center console feeding from my Kenwood Double Din & am looking for a good amp to power the 8" ... What you all using out there thats gonna fit nicely tucked inside the panel?

Also was wondering if anyone knows any specs on the Bose Speakers up front... Would like to give them more juice that way I can instead get a 5 channel amp for all 4 speakers & the subwoofer

Also what's specs on the stock console Bose Subwoofer...i wanna see if I can push more juice to it

____________ update
Looking into the Planet Audio 1500 watt ANARCHY & PULSE models.
Both deliver 563rms at 4ohms
Price is not bad at all either
