I've asked this before but it sort of faded. My 2000 Escalade is pretty well stuck on defrost. I get a little flow out the dash vents but mostly up on the glass. The diverter flap is a weak point and seems to have failed. Replacing it doesn't look too bad, once the console is out of the way. Like Shakespeare would say "Aye, there's the rub". Getting the console out is problematic. I found ONE video on youtube where it was removed but they got as far as I have then while the guy was wandering around playing with his dog, one of the other people git it out. Not much help there.

Anybody know how to get that puppy out? It's not my main driver, but it's just sitting as a S.W. Indiana summer really needs a/c. It works, but doesn't blow where I want.

After asking at the Cadillac dealersip how the console comes out, and getting a blank look, I just decided to tear into the console myself. I knew I could do it, but a little advice would have made it easier. I did a quick video before I pulled it completely out. It's not very long and the bolts were already out, but I showed where they are and the little clip in back.
