christ im beginning to think i have a defective product somewhere. I'll email Blackvue and ask for a new power fuse tap cable. Camera still doesn't power on when I turn car on. All fuses and fuse taps are flush. The crimp between fuse taps and power cable is strong. What could possibly still be the problem?

-Pre-existing 10a in row closest to prongs
-Vendor provided 5a in row farthest from prongs

All good. I'm new to electrical work. And your suggestion was spot on actually. I removed the lower kick panels, found a red 10mm bolt, put the ground on that, and now it works perfectly.

turns out it was user error all long (lame)

Not sure if it's best to revive this thread or start a new. I've purchased this dash cam:


Do I need a kit to hardwire similar to the link below to hardware the dash cam as shown in the first post of this thread? Are there are certain fuses the hardware kit needs to include? I apologize for the low level - car mechanical knowledge is decent, electrical knowledge is low.
