Almost finished with a double din sony xav-ax100 install with back up camera and I just have one wire I am struggling with. I wanted to run the camera and radio reverse signal up in the dash. This way i can run a toggle with one pin to the reverse signal and the other pole to a constant hot. I can toggle over if I ever want to look behind the truck at the load I am pulling for example. The problem has been the scarcity of a reverse wire under the dash. If I understand correctly, the column switch for the reverse light moved at some point from the column to the shifter location on the side of the automatic transmissions. Is this correct? Is there any other location in the cab to pull a reverse signal?

Since everyone likes pics. I used the mantra dash kit. I moved the climate controls down 3/8. Used a flush mount usb at the lighter location. (Made up an overly complicated piece on the lathe for the back side that no one will ever see.:) ) had a little fun with the laser marker on the switch to put in the dash8920ED02-1FE7-434C-8E28-F15AD8B6BC8F.jpeg8110B343-6938-45E0-AA69-534564939953.jpeg 35D2F78B-8214-4727-BEAE-A85C009A1A3E.jpeg

I know on the nnbs its a blue wire out of the bcm which is in cab on firewall to the left of brake pedal.... 99’s gotta be close to that. 2 diff scenarios here but maybe this will help you.81AC7073-3E9B-4E74-AE66-047F13C8FFD3.jpegE7FE16AD-79E7-4292-A731-5857F570C71C.jpegB395218E-C225-4D38-9D0E-652A1DB8F1D4.jpeg

I think my 99 predates that. I ended up just running the wire all the way from the back clipping along with the camera wire. Works really well.
