1999 Tahoe 5.7 fuel injectors

Hello all, how do I know what injectors I have(poppet or multi) without pulling the upper intake ? is there something in the vin ? again this is a 99 5.7 thanks

As far as I know, all 5.7 Vortec from the factory were poppet. My 2000 OBS K3500 5.7 had popped when I replaced them, and that was pretty much the last year of the OBS. Only the Express Vans ran longer with the 5.7, into 2002; but I've never heard of those having MPFI. I think MPFI came out after the 5.7 Vortec had been discontinued (?)

The 4.3 in the S10 did get factory MPFI, somewhere starting in like 2002.

You can try peeking into your throttle body with a flashlight and inspection mirror to try to see inside.

They’ll be visible through the throttle body. The stock ones will have no wires…
