Hello everyone, first post on the forum. I did a search and found the answer to one of my questions. I just picked up the truck and wanted to do a tune up. I went to pull the spark plugs and noticed that they were the originals(part number wise) after some looking around on the forum I found that they were wrong(what I was thinking) for the truck. So what I have now is and please correct me if I'm wrong. The spark plugs should be one heat level lower then stock, I'm gonna pick up some ac delco cr42ts. The. Other question is in regards to the gap. After poking around on the web I have found a few sites recommend a gap between .032 and .035 would this be correct. The truck currently has the supercharger ( no intercooler) is cat less and has a low restriction exhaust plus a cold air intake( I'm gonna assume it was part of the supercharger kit)

:welcome:

I don't know exact number number of a colder ac delco but in autollite 105 is one step colder than the 605 which is number equivelant to a stock acdelco 41-993 and is an excellent replacement. I believe whipple wanted a 0.035 new gap compared to the stock 0.060 but call them tomorrow to be be sure. If you use plain copper core for autolite the part number is just the number. For the propper platinum it would be APP105 for a colder comparable platinum. Whiple will steer you in right direction. (559) 442-1261

Welcome. I too would like to see pics!

I've recently tried the R42TS plugs and they didn't work too well. It was pointed out to me that they are too short (pics HERE). It was also pointed out to me that I needed;

14mm thread, .708 reach, 5/8 hex for BOTH plugs. Exactly the same as the 41-993 (imagine that )

The R42LTS6 fit IF you want a colder heat range plug in a copper core.
I've got some now, but havn't put them in yet...
Who knew that one missing letter 'L' could cause such a fuss?

That is a nice looking truck. Obviously a lot of TLC went into that rig.

Only thing I might change is the color of that push bar, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Kinda looks abit like a beaver tooth. Might look better painted black? Just my $0.02.

However, you can't argue with forced air. That's king of the road stuff right thar.
I'm so green right now.....

I'll bet you can't wait to start modding that!
I'd do efans, UD pulleys and a BBtune asap!

:Rock on:

I know what you mean about the chrome bash bar but its grown on me. I also have a set of low pro 26" chrome rims I throw on from time to time(or at least till I get another truck for them) the truck has the caddy front end and all the door and other body panels to finish the conversion. Once the weather here in NY clears up I'll wash her up and take some better pictures. As for the plans I'm more of a audio nut and am pretty happy with the performance of the truck. I just started on a new center console build for the truck to house some goodies.

I am at work...I can't post pics but excited someone is local...I think...I am from Long Island!

I am in the process of of blowing her too!

Anyway...you can only add a A2W intercooler with the whipple! You buy the truck like that or did it yourself? Truck ever been tuned? Does it have whipple tronics? Recommend you see Justin from BB he will do you and truck justice!

I'm in Niagara Falls Ny, iv been busy with work and plotting out my next few mods. The truck was tuned locally in western Ny. I haven't added the intercooler. Some of the truck was done when I picked it up. As for catless I'll inbox you

Hey to run catless was a huge pain in the ass and it was one of the mods done when I bought the truck. It had the cel dash light on and a problem code for it. After looking around I found I had two ways to run with out them and clear the code. One was to move the rear(after cat) sensor out of the exhaust gas stream some (pulling it out of the bung and adding a extension) or two getting a o2 simulator to slow the cycle and fool the computer. Im not sure going catless was that great of a idea and I have been playing with the idea to swap out the exhaust from the headers back with a new set up including cats. Thanks for the intrest have pictures of your truck posted?

Truck looks great, what brand of hood is that and is it functional ? I feel you on the daily driver. It's been one thing after another with mine. I had to do breaks all the way around on the hoe and x3( daily driver) then the 4 wheel drive went out on the dd and a wheel bearing. Iv been fixing that stuff and adding a new sound system to both trucks. It never ends lol. The x3 is almost done and I found a used set of rare 19's for it for the summer so I'm pretty happy right now. The hoe is stripped down inside and I'm still running wiring and deadening the largest body panels. I got my three amps for it and am trying to figure out if I want to stay with te same brand and run 8 ten's or 8 twelve's.

Goodmark is the brand of the hood. There are only two aftermarket hood options for our front ends. Nothing really ever beats a cowl hood. One day I will own a OBS a pick-up and I will throw a 442 dual ram air hood! If I had a stock OBS front end, that would be my hood of choice. The hood is not functional but yet leaves get sucked into the grill :/

I thought of taking a whiz wheel and cutting out the underneath shroud but the truck will see the elements. I will erk the shit out of me if I get caught in the rain with a functioning cowl hood! I have even thought of whizing the underneath out but can't think of a way to make clips incase I hits the elements. I can slide it back in and make it water tight! I abandoned this project since I sold my Whipple kit for a Vortech PSC-1.

As of right now I don't have any overheating problems...a few other's out there putting out alot more TQ then I have not either one of them have heat/cool issues. I am actually looking foward to converting to E-fans.

Interior...O LAWD I did convert and fiberglass in a DD unit took me bout 14 hrs. First time I ever did it. Someone loved it the sound system I installed so much, I was robbed!
Since then I really haven't done shit. I bought all new amps (Hifonics) and subs (12in 4ohm Kicker L7's in a box) and a modded Pioneer Avic-2 DD unit yet all in the box. Got other projects I want to undertake. I hear ya on the sound deadening but I don't want to deal with the extra weight.

Keep up the good work!
