08 Yukon SLT.. Remote start not working

Good morning to all,
I have an 08 Yukon SLT. My remote start used to work just fine, now when I try to use it, It will click and the lights flash and then nothing. Any ideas on whats going on?

If there are any DTC codes, it will not start. Is your SEL on?

common issues ive read about for an equinox i was asked to look at may be similar issues to yours. first there may be a switch that pressed somewhere in the engine bay by the hood. if it thinks the hood is open it wont allow remote start to work. the issue with the equinox i worked on ended up being a problem with the ignition switch. there is a secondary normally closed part of the switch or something on those lines. when the key is off and out of the switch it is normally closed to allow the remote start to work. if it goes bad it's basically making the system think the key is always in the ignition so remote start wont work. i never got to test this however as they weren't interested in replacing it and ending up with 2 keys or paying extra to have the new switch matched to the old keys.

Figured it out. My check engine light was on for my evap canister. Reset the code and it works perfectly.

as Joseph mentioned its nice when people actually follow up with the fix. search function works alot better when a final fix is posted

The canister is a common issue but it’s usually the hose. Mine did the same thing with remote start and the hose was toast. Check it before you buy parts. The cel will come back on after a few ignition cycles.

It usually does. Thank you , I will check the hose. I've thought about getting the program to delete the whole evap system and fix the lag on take off. may do both!
