07 Tahoe ltz running sluggish

Hello everyone I need help with my 07 Tahoe ltz 5.3 my Tahoe was running fine until one day it shut off on me while idling after I went to turn the vehicle on it was running really sluggish it wouldn’t go past 3k rpm when I went to check on in in the morning it was running just fine I had a code pop up p0420 and there was a noise coming from the driver side cat so I went a deleted my cats after deleting them the truck ran fine then when I let it sit it started running sluggish again and it has been driving me crazy it runs fine when it wants to then out of nowhere it runs really bad can someone help thanks

Your trouble code is related to the exhaust system, with either a failed oxygen sensor, or more likely a failed cat. When you deleted the cats, I'm assuming ALL cats, what did you do with the oxygen sensors?

Other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will also chime in.

Maybe something further downstream in the exhaust occasionly blocks the flow?
