Marcus ..... hey bro.

You should learn to tint windows along side your detailing set up.....

Detailing, paintless dent repair, and window tint businesses make a decent amount of $$$.

I want to but don't know where to get trained. Dent repair would be good but maybe.
Firefighting and detailing should bring home everything I want especially after my businuess has REALLY REALLY grown and I have employees and such.
And no autogeek.net

There is a week long class that teaches window tinting somewhere. I can't remember where. I googled it once and came across it.

Most people I had come across that do it learned as a apprentice in a established shop though.

I thought about taking the class once.... just never did.

It is a good easy source of side income..... especially in the Summer. That is really when people start thinking about tinting.

Wish the best for you Bro. :)

If you can then do it. It is easier to do stuff when you don't "need" the money..... ie. Young. :)

Learning something becomes harder when it is not a option.....

Tinting is easy and quick to pickup. Just takes some practice - and the shops will have the tools that make it even easier. Do it!

IMHO the hardest part is cutting the tint....... which some argue is not hard at all.... but it is IMO.

There is a way around this now...... and I looked into it. The same technology that the vinyl sign guys use to cut letters out...... a plotter...... has come to the tinting profession.

They sell a plotter and a disc....... the plotter takes the tint from the roll and feeds into the machine ..... cuts it perfect. The disc software has templates for just about every car made. Perfect cut every time. The machine and software comes together and you supply pc.

Rig is not cheap though...... $$$$

I used to hang out on tintdude.com.....

I always admired a perfect job...... I sometimes used to look at cars parked next to me and see if I could find dust specks.

I did do the perfect job once....... 2003 Expedition. It was my masterpiece. Sold a long time ago now.

The way I see the cuts made is they put it on the outside first cut then put it in the inside.

Nothing is in them lol. It's just spout bottles for me and so I can pour water on the hood and make sure it's beading right. Can't wait for #3.
And yes the Jeep it'll turn from a beast to a monster beast on roids.
Buying the DS intune for my iphone next month for the Yukon.
