Time to get the HD hood now

Next I installed yellow lamin-x film ($20) and cut the grille to fit street scene mesh grille inserts that I grabbed brand new off eBay for $100

Installed the retrofit depo headlights and tried out a blue brushed aluminum vinyl wrap to at least cover the gold bowtie for now. Also vinyl smoked just the corners of the turn signal housings

Well tried to put clear film over the brushed vinyl . Since the brush has a slight texture the clear wouldn’t lay right. Not sure if I did something wrong , new at this wrap stuff

So off it came lol

Before that went on a road trip back down to Homer , AK. Picked up my mom and bright her back to Anchorage for Mother’s Day/Birthday weekend. Truck ran good. Headlights worked great. And best of all mom rode in comfort and style

Started on the grille . Put some FiberFix filter glass patches on the typical cracking spots for these grilles to prevent future cracking or splitting. Then sanded for paint

Sanded and smoother out some imperfections which included wrinkles in the chrome.

Had the nozzles get stuck on a pass and create a run...I never have runs.....ever. So had to wait and sand smooth and lay down base again. Or course like always follow with 2K clear

Everyone I do a cut and buff. They’re getting a full paint job along with a spare bowtie for the HD grille in the next week or two

Was able to snag a spare vent from a buddy he had laying around for free.99
Popped the small clip that was broken and popped it back into my vent. I could’ve just put his vent in but I like to keep my original parts when possible. I know where they’ve been and who has played with them lol

Found a sunroof visor locally, also for free.99
Guy bought it and never installed it and found it cleaning out his garage and just gave it away. I was about to pull the trigger on one online but wasn’t sure about the look, but then I saw this so I just grabbed it.
These are kinda an outdated look but yet kinda retro , especially on this body style. Not really a fan of how it’s mounted. Kinda want the stick-on one so it sits more flush and there’s no huge rubber seal like on this one, and no screws showing. Also if I do like the way this looks or feels with the sunroof open I’ll get the other style but have to decide on leaving it black or colormatching it (can’t go wrong with colormatch but being black it matches the esky rack)
